Frequently asked questions about car rental
Do I need an international driving permit?
Within the EU the German licence is enough. Outside (USA, Canada, many Asian countries) an international permit is mandatory – apply early at your local licence office, processing takes 1–3 weeks.
Is a credit card mandatory?
With almost every supplier yes, because a deposit gets blocked. Some operators accept debit cards. We tell you before booking which card your chosen supplier expects.
How much does a one-way rental cost?
A one-way rental (pick up in city A, drop in city B) costs €50–250 extra depending on the route. Same-country drops are usually cheaper than cross-border. We factor the surcharge in upfront.
